Quick painting to warm up for comic work, but also trying out the painting tools in Manga Studio 5. The program doesn’t have everything it needs to be completely self-sufficient, but it’s got incredible tools for inking and painting.
And… man. Nothing like a self portrait to tell you how much you need a shave and a haircut.
If you’re me.

Life, Love, and Time Travel

An old friend of mine roped me involved in a show in Syracuse called "Life, Love, and Time Travel." That was pretty much the theme and all of our limitations, so I rolled with it.

I had fun with this one, if it did end up a bit odd.
There's a narrative in my head, but I don't mind it just going out and living on its own.

4 More Circus Saudade Portraits

Four more portraits from Circus Saudade.

Here we have the Trapeze Artist, the Fiddler, the Gunslinger, and the Ringmaster.
The text on these was provided by the amazing Mary Laurel Burt over at Anchor B.

Four Circus Saudade Portraits

For Kickstarter thank-you's, I made 8 portraits of characters from Circus Saudade. Here are four of them and I'll post the others soon.

These four are Gracie (the protagonist), the Tadpole, the Fortune Teller, and the Canary.
Those last three have actual names to them, too, but those are their roles, so to speak, in the circus.
